Social Innovation Exhibition

Social innovation has been gaining public attention and recognition as a new solution to social problems. In Hong Kong, the Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Fund (SIE Fund) seeks to be the catalyst for social innovation. It strives to build an ecosystem in which social entrepreneurs can thrive and thereby help alleviate poverty, promote social inclusion, as well as enhance the well-being and cohesion of the society through their innovative ideas, products and services.

Since its inauguration in 2013, the SIE Fund has funded about 160 projects by now, expecting to benefit more than 100 000 persons and 1 000 households in need such as the elderly, children and youth, persons with disabilities, ethnic minorities, and lowincome families.

This exhibition showcases some innovative projects that have successfully proceeded to the next development stage with funding support from the SIE Fund, the Food Support Flagship Project, the Community Housing Movement as well as other major initiatives of the SIE Fund. Work focus of the Fund in the coming year will also be introduced. Too good an event to miss in the Summit, the exhibition provides the public with a glimpse of the flourishing social innovation ecosystem in Hong Kong.
