The research side of social entrepreneurship/innovation tends to lag behind that of the practice side. The time has come to ‘take stock’ of what’s going on in the field of social entrepreneurship/innovation and examine what lies ahead.
In this academic session, we will host a "panel discussion" on the state-of-the-art and future directions on research in social entrepreneurship/innovation. The panel comprises seven international speakers who are established scholars in the field and who hold important editorial positions in prestigious journals. The panel will discuss the following:
- What do we already know and still don’t know about social entrepreneurship/innovation as a field of research to-date?
- What are important research directions, hot topics, areas of opportunities for frontier research in social entrepreneurship/innovation?
- How can we better connect academic research and local and international practice in social entrepreneurship/innovation?
The panel discussion will be followed by a "1-hour roundtable discussion" among academics from the eight universities in HK as well as other invitees to discuss future collaboration opportunities and other academic issues.
This academic session will be highly valuable to academics, practitioners as well as policy makers interested in improving the world in innovative and sustainable ways.
