Academic Forum: Platform Co-operativism in the Age of Industrial Revolution 4.0

In this Academic Forum (the 2nd forum of its kind in HKSES), we seek to initiate an open discussion and debate on platform co-operatives (cooperatives that run on online platforms) and cooperative movement and what it can contribute to the world and Hong Kong. Co-operative is an integral part of the social entrepreneurship research and its close cousin, the solidarity/social economy. Cooperatives offers a new way of tackling foreseeable problems in the future: the replacement of human workers in the age of artificial intelligence and robots, by turning workers into owners. In this 1.5 hour Forum, leading experts who are founders of leading co-operatives and frontier academics who are knowledgeable in the topic area will share their ideas and findings.
