One of the most important and visible attempts to transform global businesses is the B Corp movement. B Corps are certified by the non-profit organisation B Lab headquartered in the US. There are currently more than 2,200 certified B Corps in the world, coming from over 50 countries, five continents, and 130 different industries. B Corps are for-profit businesses which use business to create positive impact on society. Collectively they want to become a new sector of the economy in which the competition is not to be the best IN the world but the best FOR the world. In Hong Kong, the B Corp movement is at an infant stage but there is already substantial interest from many sectors. In this session, we will be exploring how the B Corp movement can take root in Hong Kong, focusing in identifying the early adopters in order to create a critical mass of B Corps.
