A walk with literature: we go time-travelling and revisit the places where four of the most influential authors and educationist in modern China history roamed – Eileen Chang, Hu Shih, Cai Yuanpei, and Xiao Hong.

Abundant economic activities of Chinese migrants have shaped the current unique landscape of the Central and Western District. Nowadays, the District outlines a distinctive view of Hong Kong where modern commercial buildings and historic architecture harmoniously intertwined. This community tour will talk you through prominent landmark and historical locations in the area to get a different taste of the Asia’s world city.

Tuen Mun

Walled villages are traditional multi-family communal living structures uniquely found in the New Territories. You will have the chance to talk to the villagers, taste their traditional food and learn the custom of a walled village.

Sham Shui Po

The densely-populated Sham Shui Po District is characterised by its extensive and multi-faceted industrial and commercial activities. Early-stage public housing estates, old private blocks, apparel and food wholesale markets, and even the renowned computer shopping centres can all be found in this area. At the same time, various re-constructions projects in the recent years injects new blood and energy to the community. This community tour will lead you into this urban community and the daily living environment of Hongkongers.

Yuen Long
